We are a Nigerian charity making hands-on STEM learning and good books normal in underserved schools.
Plenty of students in underserved schools are curious about science, but very few ever get to build a circuit, write code or run an experiment. Many do not even have books of their own to read. The talent is there. The access is not.
So instead of asking students to come to us, we go to them, even when that means a canoe ride. We have now reached more than 1,000 students across four local government areas, most of them girls, and worked with over 50 teachers so the learning continues after we leave.

Founder and CEO
Salaamah grew up in a government school with a real love for science but almost no way to explore it. She started The Maverick Foundation so the next generation of curious students, especially girls, get the chances she did not. She leads the foundation's vision, partnerships and growth.
Chief Operating Officer
Abdullah keeps everything running. He oversees operations, logistics and school relationships, making sure every programme is delivered on time and to a high standard.
Program Manager
A qualified project manager and sustainable environment specialist with more than three years of field experience. Abdulsamad plans our programmes and manages them on the ground, from first school visit to final report.
STEM Coordinator and Client Relations Lead
Hikmah coordinates our STEM and STEAM sessions across schools. She is also the first point of contact for our partner schools and clients, looking after everything from the first conversation to the weekly reports.
Head of Communications and Digital Storytelling
Rukayat leads our social media and content. She tells the stories of the students, teachers and schools we work with, so more people can see the impact and join in.
STEM Facilitator
Nafisat leads hands-on STEM sessions in the classroom. She guides students through experiments and builds, helping them ask questions and learn by doing.
Our volunteers teach sessions, mentor students, sort and deliver books, and keep things running behind the scenes. No science degree needed, just time and care.
